# First Indian-Made AAC Plant Commissioned in Nepal

_Pioneer Export — 300 CBM/Day Plant Across the Border_

**Location:** Nepal | **Capacity:** 300 CBM/day | **Plant Type:** AAC Block Manufacturing Plant | **Year:** 2016

In 2016, Maruti Hydraulics became the first Indian manufacturer to commission an AAC block plant outside India — a 300 CBM/day turnkey plant delivered to Nepal, with complete erection, commissioning, and operator training by the Maruti team.

## Key Metrics

* **Daily Output:** 300 CBM
* **Export Milestone:** #1 in Nepal
* **Erection Time:** 45 Days
* **Commission Year:** 2016

## The Challenge

Nepal's construction sector had no local AAC manufacturing capability. The client was importing AAC blocks from India at significant freight cost, making project economics difficult. The challenge was delivering and commissioning a full 300 CBM/day plant — including autoclaves, boiler, batching system, and cutting equipment — across international borders with Nepali import regulations, site-adaptation for altitude, and a local workforce with no prior AAC plant experience.

## The Maruti Solution

Maruti Hydraulics designed the plant for modular transport across the Nepal border, with all major equipment pre-assembled and load-tested at the Nashik factory before dispatch. The SCADA batching system was configured with bilingual (English/Nepali) operator screens. A dedicated Maruti erection team spent 45 days on site for mechanical and electrical installation, followed by 30-day technology transfer with production trials to ensure the client's team could operate and maintain the plant independently.

## The Result

Commercial AAC block production began in Nepal for the first time in 2016, displacing Indian block imports for the client and establishing Maruti Hydraulics as the first Indian AAC plant manufacturer to successfully execute an international project. The plant operates continuously to date.
