Maruti Hydraulics flyash brick machines are available from 5,000 bricks per 8-hour shift (semi-automatic, two-cavity mould) up to 30,000 bricks per shift (fully automatic, four-cavity mould with automated feeding and stacking). The most common model for first-time investors is the 10,000 bricks/shift machine, which balances capital cost, market demand, and site area requirements. At 10,000 bricks/shift and 25 production days/month, monthly output is 2.5 lakh bricks — sufficient to supply 3–5 residential construction sites simultaneously.
Flyash bricks are manufactured from fly ash (60–70% by weight), quicklime (10–15%), gypsum (5%), and ordinary Portland cement (5–10%). Fly ash is the primary raw material and is available free or at minimal cost from thermal power stations, which are legally required to make ash available to downstream users under the Ministry of Environment's fly ash utilisation notification. Lime and gypsum are commercially available from mining companies. The low raw material cost structure is what makes flyash brick manufacturing economically attractive — raw material cost per brick is typically ₹0.30–0.50, while selling price ranges from ₹4.50–7.00 per brick depending on the market.
Flyash bricks in India are governed by IS 12894:2002 (Fly Ash-Lime Bricks — Specification), which classifies bricks into Grade FPS A (minimum 10.0 MPa compressive strength) and Grade FPS B (minimum 7.5 MPa). Water absorption must be below 20% for both grades. Dimensional tolerance is ±3 mm on length and ±2 mm on width and height. Most construction projects in India require Grade FPS B as a minimum.
