After autoclave curing, blocks emerge bonded together in cross-shaped clusters that must be separated, inspected, palletised, and wrapped for dispatch. A complete AAC finished block handling system includes a de-stacking crane or grabber, a block separator arm, conveyor belts, a strapping or shrink-wrap station, and a pallet stacker. Maruti Hydraulics designs and manufactures these handling systems as part of a turnkey AAC block plant package, ensuring safe handling of blocks from 150 to 1200 CBM/Day plant output without chipping or edge damage.
During autoclave curing at 12 bar and 190°C, the calcium silicate hydrate crystals that form on the cut block faces create a light bond between adjacent blocks in the cross-shaped cluster. If this bond is broken with excessive force — as happens when blocks are manually separated or mechanically separated without controlled deceleration — the block edges chip, creating reject blocks. The separator arm in the finished block handling system applies controlled splitting force in the correct plane to break the inter-block bond without chipping the faces. This is one of the most significant quality control points in the production line: reducing separator-induced chipping from 15–20% (manual separation) to under 3% (mechanical separator) directly improves saleable yield per autoclave batch.
Finished AAC blocks are typically palletised on wooden or plastic pallets in stacks of 2–4 layers, then secured with plastic strapping (PP bands) or stretch-wrapped with LDPE film. Pallet loads are typically 1–2 tonnes depending on block size and density. For long-distance transport (over 200 km), stretch-wrapped pallets with corner protectors are preferred to prevent edge chipping. For local construction site delivery (under 50 km), strapped pallets without wrapping are common.
