After the AAC slurry has risen and pre-cured in the mould, the green cake must be tilted 90° and lifted onto an autoclave trolley for wire cutting. The tilting machine grips the mould, rotates it precisely, and transfers the intact green block cake to the cutting station. Maruti Hydraulics manufactures hydraulically operated tilting machines suited for plant capacities of 150 to 1200 CBM/Day. Smooth, vibration-free operation at this stage is critical — any shock or jolt can crack the fragile green cake before cutting.
Green cake cracking during tilting is caused by one of four things: (1) the green cake was insufficiently pre-cured before tilting — it was too soft to handle its own weight; (2) the tilting machine applied excessive rotation speed or deceleration, creating inertial forces that crack the green cake; (3) the mould clamp did not grip the mould securely, allowing the mould to shift during rotation and transmitting shock to the green cake; (4) the autoclave trolley was not correctly positioned to receive the green cake, causing a drop or misalignment. Maruti Hydraulics' tilting machine design addresses issues 2 and 3 directly with hydraulic proportional control and secure mould clamping. A complete tilting cycle — mould arrival at tilting station, clamp engagement, 90° rotation, trolley positioning, green cake transfer, mould release, and mould return — takes approximately 3–5 minutes depending on plant capacity and mould size. At a 300 CBM/day plant producing one mould every 12–15 minutes (based on batching, pouring, and pre-curing cycle times), the tilting machine comfortably handles one mould per cycle without being the production bottleneck. At higher capacities (600–1200 CBM/day), the production cycle may use two tilting machines working in parallel to match the increased mould throughput.
